OLDER PUPPIES OR DOGS AVAILABLE:

No older dogs available at this time

We have a very selective breeding program that is slowly growing as we select females that are of the quality to breed and pass health screenings such as hip and elbow evaluations.

Our goal is to produce dogs that are not only beautiful, but of sound mind and body.

Here are some puppies born at Seahawk at maturity

all sons/daughters of Sally and Chief:

Cole at age 3    Steele at age 3    Misty at age 1 1/2
Samantha at age 3 Beautiful and talented with excellent temperaments!

Quotes from happy owners of past litters:

I hope that you and everyone are well.  I have just looked at your web page, I like the update.  I am really pleased that you are doing the same breeding again.  We still think that Bronte is the perfect dog. Anyway, we love her, couldn't ask for anything more.  I hope the next breeding is just as successful and I hope that I can have another one in 2007, in between babies!

Best wishes

Paula

Steele and Cole really turned out to be beautiful labs.  Cooper is a great dog and a real joy to Mary and I.  If I could just keep him from relocating my stack of firewood to the middle of the yard.  He is strong and weighs 90+ now.   He's a big boy and loves to go with me.  We just got back from town.  He's the best dog I've had.  Have a great day.

Just thought I would update you on Cooper.  We had his physical last week and weighs 107lbs.  He looks great!  Everyone comments on how great he looks and how stocky he is.  He is just a big boy that loves to be with me.  Absolutely, without a doubt, the best dog we have ever had.  He has a wonderful disposition and loves to please.  He stopped relocating my stack of firewood and dragging trees up out of the woods.  It was a puppy thing.  He's a good boy and very happy.  I just thought you would like to know.

Gordon and Mary

From Timmy and Jeannie, new owners of Kodi, who also own a rather hyper mature male lab named Hunter

"If we had Kodi first and knew how good labs should act,  Hunter probably would have gone back to the breeder.  Kodi is no problem at all."

(Of course she said this before Kodi decided to eat their bedroom furniture!)

Phil from New Jersey who bought 2 males from the 2005 litter

Chase weighs about 75-80, and Toby weighs about 85-90; Chase is a lot lighter, almost white, and very slender, he is very agile.  Toby is very stocky, more golden and slower.  Both are incredible dogs.  They are around all 3 of our children and are excellent with them.  We could not have gotten a better dog.  Everyone that sees them remarks on how great of a temperament they have, they love everyone. Thanks again and good luck with the new litter.

Dana, daughter of Frank and Sue, who live in NJ and have MIsty

My parents told me you are expecting 2 litters this spring and we were wondering if we could "reserve" a female from one of the litter.  My fiance and I are looking for a dog and love Misty.  He keeps threatening to steal her from my parents!!  I'm sure my mom has told you that I have had a dog almost my entire life and love them so much.   Now that we have our own house, he wants a dog so badly.  We both love Misty's temperament and think she is beautiful.  If you could let me know how much the puppy would be and when they would be available, I would appreciate it.

If you are considering a new puppy, please think it over very carefully.  A dog, no matter what kind, is a 10 to 15 year commitment that requires time and attention.  They will give you love and joy but in return they must have daily care and training.  Young puppies are as mischievous as any child and it is the owners responsibility to keep them out of trouble and teach them how to be good canines.   Lack of training and obedience can turn a cute puppy into an unruly dog that ends up "tied up out back" or taken to the pound.   If you do not have the time to dedicate to training a young puppy, consider getting an older dog.

Labradors crave attention and love to play and work.  They are energetic and you can expect them to be puppies for about 2 years before they settle down into adulthood.   A well behaved dog is a pleasure to be around and can give you much pleasure.  They are great companions, whether as family pets, hunting dogs or both.   But, fair warning...  labradors do shed.

At Seahawk, we are dedicated to ensuring that our puppies are placed in wonderful loving homes.  In the case that someone cannot continue to provide for one of our puppies, we ask that you notify us and we will take them back to find placement in a new home.   I will give free training and obedience sessions for anyone getting a Seahawk puppy.  Training starts the day that you take a puppy home.  Not allowing bad habits, such as jumping on people or pulling on the leash, to form when they are puppies will ensure that your puppy is well behaved as an adult.  They owner must be the leader or "alpha dog" and gain the respect of their canine friend.
