Gretchen is a
sweetheart who loves hugs and cuddling but never misses anything. On
the small side, but she is super fast, loves to run and play but is usually too busy to
eat. She went on her first hunt at 8 months and loves to
retrieve birds. She has stayed very light in color and has a lovely expression. Not much of a lady, she is always in the
mud and playing rough with anyone who will tolerate her. She
definitely takes after her mother, who is known as "The Party
Girl".
Thank you Canvasback Labradors and Jane Bailey for this
sweet addition to our family.

September 2006- Gretchen
passes her 4th and final hunt test and earns her Junior
Hunter Title!!!!!

show at 6 months. Hopefully,
we will pursue her show career later when she has matured more
and gains some
more weight. For now, we will be pursuing her hunting titles.

her first retriever event, she placed 2nd Place in
the Sr. Puppy Class of the
Mid-Atlantic
Retriever Club and LRCP's
Super
Retriever Super Singles Retriever Series Event on 4-30-05.

Gretchen competed in her first AKC Hunt Test at barely 1 year old.
(Mine too) She
did wonderfully on the land birds- ran hard, marked like a pro and brought both
birds right to hand. But... she was a little less confident in the water
and dropped the second bird on the bank. 3 out of 4... oh so close to her first
leg. It was a lot of fun and great experience for both of us. All and all,
I was very proud of her and am looking forward to the next test.

September to November 2005:
Gretchen has gained her confidence! She
earned three legs towards her Junior Hunter
title. She will have to pass the test 1 more time to
obtain her AKC Junior Hunter title but we will wait until next spring. It
was a lot of work. Now, she is tired...
